Where these questions come from
Most free practice for this topic is a scanned upload or a blog quiz, and neither can tell you a question has exactly one answer. That is the one thing this set can promise: it is minted, not typed. FAQ
How do I fix a starting point at a round table?
Place any one person anywhere and treat that as fixed. Rotations of a circular arrangement are the same arrangement, so nothing is lost — and without a fixed anchor you will generate the same solution several times over and think each is a new case.
What changes when everyone faces outward?
Left and right swap. For a table facing the centre, clockwise is to a person's left; facing outward it is to their right. Mixed tables, where some face in and some face out, resolve one person at a time — write the facing beside each name as you place them.
What does 'third to the left' mean exactly?
Count three seats in that person's left direction, skipping nobody and including empty seats if the question allows them. It is not 'three people away'. This wording accounts for a large share of wrong circular answers, and it is worth reading twice every single time.
