Most free practice for this topic is a scanned upload or a blog quiz, and neither can tell you a question has exactly one answer. That is the one thing this set can promise: it is minted, not typed. FAQ

Why do I keep getting the final direction wrong?

Because a turn is relative to the walker, not the page. After facing south, a left turn goes east, not west. Redraw the arrow after every turn rather than tracking direction in your head; three turns is where the mental version reliably fails.

How do I find the shortest distance between start and end?

Total the north-south moves as one signed number and the east-west moves as another, then take the square root of the sum of their squares. The intermediate path never matters. Most exam sets are built so the two totals form a 3-4-5 or 5-12-13 triangle.

Do shadow-based direction questions follow a different rule?

They add one fact: in the morning a shadow falls to the west, in the evening to the east. Everything after that is ordinary direction tracking. The question is testing whether you know the sun fact, so establish the facing direction from it first and then ignore it.
